Band Family,

Below are our performance times for both Pre-MPA Concert on Tuesday, March 6 as well as MPA the week of March 19-23. All events are at North Lincoln this year!

Pre-MPA Concert – Tuesday March 6

Symphonic Band – arrive on campus at 5:15pm (be seated on stage); perform at 6pm, must stay for ELHS Symphonic Band and WLHS Wind Ensemble.

Wind Ensemble – arrive on campus at 7:30pm (sit in auditorium audience as group). Listen to ELHS Wind Ensemble and LHS Wind Ensemble. Perform at 8:30pm. I will give extra credit to all band members for those who stay for the entire event ? Dress for both bands will be CONCERT BLACK.

Here is the full performance schedule:

6:00 – NLHS Symphonic Band

6:30 – ELHS Symphonic Band

7:00 – WLHS Wind Ensemble

7:30 – ELHS Wind Ensemble

8:00 – LHS Wind Ensemble

8:30 – NLHS WInd Ensemble

I hope parents and friends will come out and hear these wonderful bands! We’ll have some college band directors on campus listening and giving comments for us to continue to grow!

Symphonic Band MPA – Tuesday, March 20

11:30am – Students released from 3rd period classes/grab instruments/report to auditorium stage to warmup.

12:30pm – PERFORMANCE

12:50pm – sight read in band room

1:00pm – put equipment away/go to 3rd lunch

**Symphonic Band members will need to come to school IN CONCERT BLACK. There will not be enough time for you change when you are released from 3rd period.

Wind Ensemble MPA – Thursday, March 22
3:00pm – School lets out/grab instruments/change into concert attire (or wear it to school)
3:25pm – warm up in choir room
4:10pm – PERFORMANCE
4:40pm – sight read in band room
5:00pm – put equipment away

*** Wind Ensemble members will wear CONCERT BLACK for MPA.

As our band room will be used by other bands to sight read, I will work out a way for students to get into the band room to get instruments between bands. Students, just be patient as we allow other groups to finish their sight reading. We’ll go over more specific logistics in class.

I know that MPA performances are during the school day and many parents work, but if you can sneak away for a bit to come see your student, I know you will not be disappointed! MPA is often the most “polished” performance of the year, and I know the students appreciate performing for a full house! Pretty cool it’s on our home turf this year!

Looking forward to some wonderful opportunities to make music together!

Yay Band!

Mr. Still
