Winter Ensembles

In the winter after marching band, North Lincoln sponsors several competitive groups open to all students by audition. North Lincoln Percussion focuses on percussion performance, including traditional drumline (battery) and front ensemble (mallet and auxiliary) percussion instruments. Keyboards, bass guitars and electric guitars are also found in this group.

The North Lincoln “Blue” Winter Guard is the indoor component to the color guard of the marching band and competes in a gym to recorded music. This group learns a choreographed show and combines dance and equipment to entertain audiences. Both NLP and NL Blue hold auditions in November and compete through late March.

These groups compete in the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association (CWEA).
