All-County/UNCG Honor Band information

Dear band students,

This email contains information regarding two upcoming honor band clinic opportunities early in the new semester, Lincoln County All-County Band Clinic and the Carolina Band Festival @ UNCG.

Lincoln County All-County Band Clinic – February 6-7, 2020. This clinic showcases the best in band in Lincoln County! Some awesome performances have happened over the years at this annual clinic! NEW for 2020… we will seat the 2020 band through an “audition” process. Students will be asked to work up a short etude and record it on their phones or computer. The beauty of this method is a student can record as many times as they would like! Music for All-County Band Clinic is attached to this email. Carolina Band Festival @ UNCG – February 20-22, 2020This honor band clinic at UNCG is one of my favorites, and ends up being a favorite for students who participate. Just like All-County, this honor band requires an “audition” through another video. Here is the link to the application website.

Here’s the good news: students can use the etude excerpts in this email for both clinics! Just make one video and upload it to both sites.

Here’s even better news: Mr. Still will have recording sessions the first week of the new semester during classes to help students.

Students must be enrolled in the spring semester band classes in order to submit a video for either clinic.

I hope to see MANY NL band students trying out for both honor bands! For All-County, the band directors will take as many students as makes sense for a good sounding band… we just want to see you make the effort to learn the solo.
