Congratulations to our Wind Ensemble for earning a superior rating at the South Central District Bandmasters Association’s Music Performance Assessment (MPA) Festival on Friday! This is the highest rating an ensemble can receive! These ratings are often what other programs see around the state, and serve as our “measuring stick” against the standard. Bravo Wind Ensemble! The students played beautifully!
Also, congratulations to our Carowinds band students on earning an additional superior rating on Saturday! Despite some mix up in music and forgotten equipment, the students focused when it was time and performed a great concert! Our middle school band also earned an excellent rating (2nd highest)! To cap it all off, we had a terrific time in the park in beautiful weather!
Special thank you to all involved in our first Knight of Bingo fundraiser on Friday! I don’t have an exact figure but we’ll share that Tuesday Night at the Band Parent Meeting (6:30pm in the seminar room)! A huge shoutout to Julie Baumgardner, Lisa Pretorius, Tina Vargas, Amy Fesmire, Nancy DeAngelis, David Wagner, Karen Davis, Mary Kay Sanetick and Beth Lippard for organizing and helping! A big thank you to our sponsors as well! If I missed anyone, please let me know!
Lots of wonderful people and wonderful things! Mark your calendars for our annual Band-O-Rama Concert on Tuesday, April 16 @ 6pm! This concert serves as a “snapshot” of all of our NL performing ensembles (6th Grade Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Indoor Percussion)! Plus, we will have a food truck on campus, silent auction items and desserts! Should be a FUN night! Invite your friends and families! More info to come!
