Band family,
I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend! This email contains information regarding this Saturday’s Mini Camp.
Saturday, September 8 – 8am-8:30pm.
This camp is EXTREMELY important for the success of our season. The mini camp allows us to accomplish the following goals: 1) continue learning drill and music for the competitive show, 2) add body/visual enhancements to the competitive show, 3) allow the staff and prop parents to finalize details regarding our sound systems, props, and logistics, and 4) do a final check on uniform fitting and parts. It is very important that we have 100% attendance. As this date was on the original schedule sent out in April, attendance is mandatory and absences/tardies will only be handled on a case-by-case basis. We also need parents to come out and help with washing our trucks/trailers and cleaning out storage rooms. Please email Rob Sanetick (rms2417@gmail.com) if you can help out. Even if you are not a “builder”, the more the merrier! The kids truly love seeing a huge group of parents working and supporting them!
Schedule for Mini Camp will be the same as the 2nd week of band camp. Students will need to provide a packed lunch and will be allowed off campus for dinner from 4:30-6pm. Please provide a note indicating a student will be leaving campus. No students will be allowed off campus for lunch. We will end at 8:30pm (hopefully in our stadium!). Parents are welcome to come to the evening block (6-8:30pm) to watch our students rehearse and work with our staff!
A few other things
1. Anyone who may have forgotten to turn in their Butter Braid order should place it in the blue box tomorrow (Monday).
2. We are in desperate need of concession stand workers, especially for this Friday. ALL BAND FAMILIES ARE EXPECTED TO HELP WITH THIS IMPORTANT FUNDRAISER. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090948ada62ba6f58-north
3. Our home show, the Roundtable Tournament of Bands, is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6. This is one of our largest fundraisers of the year! We primarily make profit off of concessions and admissions from visiting bands, so the more food and drinks that are donated, the more money we make!!! Please start sending in brand name soft drink cans. There is a current special at Harris Teeter for 12 packs of Coke – 4 cases for $10, good through 9/4. Other grocery stores run specials all the time on Coke products. Remember they must be canned! Please send in your donated canned soft drinks with your student each morning!
4. More information regarding the televised pep rally this coming Friday to follow in a separate letter. The band will be the featured group at 8:15am LIVE!
Continue to check your emails for needs regarding Pit/Prop, Concessions, and Roundtable. Please help us out so our students have the very best experience possible! It takes a village to raise a child!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Yay Band!

P.S. Order forms for membership jackets will be available this week at rehearsals. More information will be handed out this week to the students.
