Dear Marching Band members and parents,
Happy New Year! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season! The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information regarding our upcoming "marching band" for the spring football season. I am committed to providing band students with positive, memorable experiences, and while this upcoming season is not a traditional marching band, I sincerely hope all students who originally signed up for the band will participate! If you did not originally sign up for the marching band back in August, but you would like to participate, please send me an email.
After School Rehearsal Schedule (1/12-2/26)
Tuesdays & Thursdays - 3:30-5:30pm
Additional rehearsals will be held on the Thursday before each home game.
Home Game Schedule (we will not travel to away games due to COVID restrictions)
Feb. 26 HOME Game (vs. West Lincoln)
March. 5 HOME Game (vs. Lake Norman Charter)
March 26 HOME Game (vs. Newton-Conover)
April 9 HOME Game (vs. Bandys)
A few important things:
1. In order to offer all students with a chance to get a formal picture in their marching uniforms, we will offer marching band pictures on Tuesday, January 26 during rehearsal. More information will be sent out closer to that date.
2. Cost of Marching Band - The booster board approved a fee of $100 last month. This will cover additional instruction, music and a band t-shirt & beanie hat! Students who need to purchase marching shoes will have the option to do that during uniform fittings (about $35). As always, no student will ever be turned away from participating due to financial hardship. Please email me if your family may need help with this cost. I ask that the first half ($50) be paid by January 29 and the last half ($50) be paid by the first game (Feb. 26).
3. Communication - this upcoming season we will use a new app for communication. Please download the BAND App and type in this code (https://band.us/n/
4. I fully understand that on days that students are "tracked out", securing rides may be difficult. All I ask is that students and parents do their very best to commit to all rehearsals and home games as indicated on the schedule. We want to treat this as close to a marching season as normal, and attendance at all rehearsals and events will be mandatory.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Our program has handled this abnormal year so well, and I think we can still have fun and make great memories this coming semester!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Yay Band!
Mr. Still
