Band family,

First, all I can say is WOW! What an awesome experience on Saturday. I am SO, SO, SO humbled to watch our parents and students work together for a common goal: to make Roundtable the very best experience it can be for the visiting bands. So proud of my students for a terrific performance and overall great attitudes. I received lots of compliments! We’ll send out a feel good email this week with more specific “thank yous”, but for now, please know that I appreciate everyone who came together to make NL a special place last night. Thank you!

This week is a busy week for us as a band program. I’ll get right to it.

Chamber Music Concert – Monday, Oct. 7 @ 7pm in the auditorium
Please refer to my previous email here for details. Call time is 6:30pm for Concert Band members or earlier if your group needs a little more time to tune and spot check. If you are not in band class this semester, please consider attending and supporting your friends! You will not be disappointed by this “non-Traditional” concert and all the chamber (small) groups!
Home Football Game vs. East Lincoln (Rival Game!) – Friday, Oct. 11

Call time is 5:30pm. We will wear full uniforms for this game. Students must wear a past band show shirt or NL shirt under the uniforms (save your Within the Garden shirts for Saturday). Don’t forget long black socks and some $$ for 3rd quarter break. The plan is to perform the show at halftime! Props will be moved to the stadium at 5:30pm (warmup begins at 6:00pm).

Carolina Classic @ East Lincoln – Saturday, Oct. 12

Call time is 11:00am. Students will need their show shirts, long black socks, athletic shorts and $$ for dinner in the ELHS stadium following our perofmrance. Please see below for schedule and general informaiton.

A few things:

1. Pick up for items donated for Roundtable use is encourged after school (Before or after rehearsals). If you need to pick up items during school hours, please send Mr. Still email so he can plan. Items have been labeled and will be placed on the auditoiurm stage following the concert tomorrow night.

2. If you and your family sponsored a trophy for Roundtable, please send in your money so we can close out the books for Roundtable. Such a great night!

3. The Carolina Classic is a long standing band competition in our area and in many ways acts a second “homeshow” for us! With it being right down the road, I know many extended family and friends will be in attendance! Let’s pack “that other place” with NL Blue!!! Reminder of procedure… students will still be expected to return with the band to NLHS and help unload. I expect us to start and end events as a team and help each other.

4. Final orders for band membership jackets, band hoodies and duffle bags will be due tomorrow in the blue box. It’s finally feeling like fall outside!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Yay Band!
Mr. Still
