Dewey's Holiday Store!
Dear Band family,
It is that time of the year again!!! Our annual (6th year I believe!!!) Dewey's Holiday Store! This annual fundraiser has become a big hit for the Denver community and is one of our largest fundraisers each year (the other being the Roundtable Tournament in the fall). It takes our entire band program to make this event a success.
1. What is Dewey's? We set up a physical storefront in the Denver area (this year in the shopping center by Giovanni's Pizza off old Hwy 16) and sell a full array of baked goods. Dewey's is known for their Moravian sugar cookies, but they offer a bunch of other things.
2. What do we need from you? Two things really... The most pressing one is staffing the store. We need parent volunteers to staff the store. We try to have a crew of two in the store at all times. Students may help out as well but they must have an adult working the store formally. The second thing... advertising the store! Tell your friends and families! Attached is a flyer that you can share on social media to let people in your life know about it!
3. What's in it for me? Something new this year for our volunteers and students.
We will have two $25 drawings each week. One for the students who have store patrons turn in a blue ticket at the store and one for volunteers who staff the store that week.
At the end of the season we will have two $100 drawings. One for the student patron blue ticket contest and one for the volunteers who staff our store each week.
Volunteers will only be eligible to win one weekly drawing. All volunteers will be eligible for the final $100 drawing. The more shifts a volunteer works the more opportunities to win. Only 1 submission per shift per family. North Lincoln Band Booster Board members are not eligible to win.
All students will receive a copy of the Blue Ticket via email. Students can share those via email or give them to family members. Customers will bring these into the store so students will be entered into the weekly drawing and then the final $100 drawing. The more blue tickets a student shares with customers who bring them into the store the more chances to win.
Middle school band students and parents are also encouraged to participate. The Band Boosters help out at the middle school in several ways including instrument repairs, equipment purchases and professional organization dues for Mr. Stokes. It is a great way to see and help out at one of the biggest fundraisers sponsored by the Band Boosters and meet other families within the band program where we hope your student has found a home for many years to come!
