Westport 4th of July parade logistics and music

Dear 2019 marching band member and parents,

This email contains information regarding our first community performance of the 2019 season, the Westport 4th of July Parade!  We will have a brief rehearsal on Wednesday, July 3rd from 5:30-6:30pm in the bandroom to learn music.  Below are the logistics… we will transport larger instruments in the small band trailer (otherwise, all students and smaller equipment will need to meet up Thursday morning).  ALL students (including guard) are EXPECTED to march this parade UNLESS you will physically be out of town that morning. It is expected that families will communicate with Mr. Still if they can not participate in this parade.  Please do your best to be there!  This parade is a short one, but a great way to support our community and our country!
Event Date:  Thursday, July 4, 2019

Report Time:  9:30 am

Parade Route:  Approximately 1 mile. Starts at the Fairfield Forest United Methodists Church and ends in the parking lot at St Peter By the Lake Episcopal Church (approximately 1 mile). The road is blocked off for the parade at 9:40.

The Parade starts promptly at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 4th, 2019, from the Fairfield Forest United Methodist Church.  Parents and Students are asked to park across from the Habitat for Humanity Restore on HWY 16. (The Food Lion is also in this parking lot.  I will be there to meet the students.

Here are the links for the parade music.  Try to memorize it… it’s not very hard :).  I’ll have extra copies that morning so students can look through it.

P.S. remember that at the bottom of every email sent through the Google Group is a link to unsubscribe.  However, this email list is for ALL band students and families (not just marching band), so if you didn’t graduate but you plan to just participate in concert bands, it is advised to stay on this Google Group.  Otherwise, you’ll be in the dark of all the great things happening 🙂
