Mini-Camp Saturday (9/9)/Away Football Game

Fri. – Away Football Game @ Alexander Central
Sat. – Mini-Camp 9am-8:30pm **time change**
1. Life is about compromises, and so that’s what we’re going to do. Mr. Sherrill and Coach Pack have asked that we send a pep band to the away game this Friday vs. Alexander Central. ACHS is a 4A school and a BIG game! This is a great way to show our support to the team since we were not able to attend this past week, so I am asking our band family to honor this request! I will have a sign up sheet on the band room whiteboard. The plan is to leave NLHS at 6pm; call time is 5:30pm. Dress will be summer uniform (show shirt, khakis with a belt, socks and shoes). Bring lyres, flip folders and $$ for 3rd quarter break. Please know that we can not accommodate this request if we don’t have proper instrumentation. Please dig deep and help out by going! Mr. Sherrill is paying for 2 buses, thus priority will be given to upperclassmen and drumline students. Once both buses are full (about 75 students), we’ll cap it. Color Guard students are welcome to come if we have enough of each instrument. We should be back at NLHS around 10:30.
2. To accommodate our trip to Alexander Central for the away game (it will be late getting back), I have decided to push the start time for our all-day Mini-Camp back to 9am. We will still release at 8:30pm. This camp is EXTREMELY important for several reasons: 1) it will allow us to finish the majority of the drill, 2) it gives us sufficient time to add visuals and additional guard contributions, 3) we will have substantial time with our props, and 4) we will practice with parts of the uniforms to make sure all uniforms are fitted correctly. Food will be handled just like band camp… lunch on your own AT SCHOOL and dinner on your own OFF CAMPUS. If you plan to leave campus, please be careful and plan ahead! Lunch will be at 12-1pm and dinner will be 4:30-6pm. Snacks will be provided throughout the day as well as water. WEAR SUNSCREEN AND YOUR HATS!
3. Roundtable Parent Meeting: Thursday, September 7 @ 7pm in the choir room. I am requesting at least ONE parent representative from each family attend this meeting regarding our LARGEST fundraiser of the year… the ROUNDTABLE TOURNAMENT OF BADNS! This a marching band show that North Lincoln hosts each year. 12 bands from around Charlotte and Winston-Salem will be attending! We need ALL HANDS ON DECK to pull this event off. Should last only an hour 🙂
