This is a reminder of several important items before band camp begins in August.
1. Full Band Sectionals will be this Thursday, July 20 from 4-7pm. If you are in town and able to come, please make plans to do so. Winds/Percussion will look at warm-up music, some show music and do a little marching/mark time. Guard will do more basic equipment work and dance block. Please dress accordingly!
2. Music links were sent out in a previous email. Please check back through your emails for those links. If you have the ability to print music at home, please do so. The staff will have copies for you at sectional.
3. The 2nd installment of $100 for marching band fees is due this month. Please mail your checks to either the school or the booster PO box (P.O. Box 1936 Lincolnton, NC 28093). You can also pay fees online using the PayPal button through the website. In the prompt, put your student’s name and what the payment is for! Checks can be made out to “NLHS Band”. Also all necessary forms for marching band are on the website. CHECK THE WEBSITE FREQUENTLY!!!
4. Double check your calendars and make sure you have band events on there. I rarely change dates so you can pretty much bank on those dates being “set in stone”. Once in a while a rehearsal time will either change or be cancelled for a very specific reason… I do my very best to respect everyone time and give you plenty of notice! With that being said, please try your best to schedule doctor appointments, driver’s ed, college visits and other things around band functions. With over 100 students, it really affects the band negatively when we have people out! This is really the ultimate team… there is no bench and everyone matters equally! Of course, life happens and sometimes conflicts arise… if that happens, I appreciate an email with 24 hour notice. Folks have been really good about communicating with me in a timely manner – keep it up!
